"No great improvements in the lot of mankind are possible until a great change takes place in the fundamental constitution of their modes of thought."
--John Stuart Mill
It was amazing. Great people, great location, (resort on the beach), just all around amazing. Am I really going to be back in Champaign tomorrow?

Whenever I'm feeling particularly burned out (which seems to be happening a little too often lately...) I always refer back to this email from one of the people I respect more than anyone, which was sent at a time when I was pretty sure I was done with @ for good:
From: Missy
I think about the frustrations I've felt this afternoon, this week, this month, and I hate it. But at the same time, though it's been an uphill battle most of the way, all I can think of is what an incredible challenge it has been. And how I could have, but didn't refuse this challenge. And how I'm a better person for it.
And if I'm not being challenged every day- why am I even here?

Hi Everyone,
I am sure you all have seen all the emails going out over the listserv and I wanted to share some thoughts with you.
Nothing great is ever easy.
Each and every one of us has put countless hours of our time and our lives into this organization and all because we believe that we are making a difference whether it be by improving processes, starting AIESEC countries, meeting with externals, managing delivery on accounts, recruiting participants, balancing budgets, and everything in between.
As this group of people has come together over the past few months I have seen greatness. I have started to see challenges that I never thought we would ever face and I think this is the biggest sign that we are really moving, we are really changing the way AIESEC is viewed in the world.
It is an incredibly exciting thing.
After having been in AIESEC for a few years, I now have the benefit of looking back to other times like this where things seemed tough and think of it with a smile realizing how much I learned by going through those experiences.
So here’s to the challenge that awaits us as leaders in AIESEC US!
I look forward to working with each and every one of you to break through walls we don’t yet know exist and to do more exchange than any organization has ever done before!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Missy

my laptop just died.
i hate to say it, but my entire life was connected to that piece of plastic. i have 4 days to get a shit-ton of work done before tunisia....not having a laptop is going to make this week even more interesting. currently chilling in the foreign language building basement trying to find a CITES guy who i can bribe into fixing my laptop so i don't have to buy a new one till summer...
